The preliminary from the three pay-TV services in the media group RTL via the IPTV Entertain Telekom is probably only the harbinger some massive appetite of the media company. 
Supposedly we consider the action on RTL option because it came after three years of the contract period between the telecom and media group RTL is still not set out to implement the ad-skipping ban. That means in plain language, RTL, VOX, RTL2, Super RTL and n-tv should no longer be recordable without skip the advertising. And it is this loss of convenience will not go into the Telekom. And if this discussion now for SD content via IPTV is, when will it show up on cable and satellite reception? Probably only a matter of time. The HD + platform we have implemented at least similar with HD content is already successful. Wired would be the infrastructure with encryption already given anyway, and only a very low technical and customer loss problem. But over DVB-S, it would be for the spectators of the meltdown. All FTA boxes in the garbage can, RTL would require that the receiving device are to be used, and under warranty they will not be compliant with Sky equipment.
So one can only hope that this risk of a massive audience loss, if any, via IPTV and DVB-C done. But in the course of the SD-off in perhaps the not too distant future, RTL will be mutated to the pay-TV model with advertising. Let us rejoice then!
